- Jun 5: Dr. Christof Teuscher gave an invited talk at the DAC Workshop on Diagnostic Services in Network-on-Chips (DSNoC) in San Diego, CA. His presentation was entitled "Fault- and Defect-Tolerant Computation and Communication in Self-assembled Network-on-Chip."
- May 27: Max OrHai presents his poster entitled "Embedding Parallel Computation in a Stochastic Mesh Network: A Morphogenetic Approach" at the MCECS Undergraduate Research & Mentoring Program End-of-the-Year Poster Session.

- The ASM Materials Education Foundation award for Most Outstanding Exhibit in Materials Science at the PPS Science Expo; and
- The Mu Alpha Theta Award for the Most Challenging, Thorough, and Creative Investigation of a Problem Involving Mathematics Accessible to a High School Student.
